It is easy to believe the picture painted by the media, by hear-say and by first impressions. But unless one has experienced it for him or her self, and even then, nothing is concrete, one should not pass judgement.
DJs no doubt, spend a bulk of their time spinning in clubs, or to many people, in those shady, questionable places. But what really makes spinning in these places shady? For that matter, does it mean that questionable is friends having a good time, jumping around to loud music? Or is it the fact that these people drink?
Well, if that is the case, then are we not all, as individuals, shady as well behind closed doors?
The point is, walking into a 'by-stander-labelled' shady place does not make an upright person walking in shady. It is almost like saying walking into McDonalds makes you a Big Mac. Furthermore, bad influence in clubs. How about the bad influence on television. Bad influence in media, by school mates, by acquaintances? It does not make sense.
Besides, what is the intended purpose of walking into a club? To act all rowdy and start fights? Of course not! People go there to have fun. The DJs are there because they LIVE for music. They are there because music is what they have to offer, their heart and soul, their personality, them.
DJs, have not many other outlets to allow themselves to showcase their talents. Just because clubs are labelled 'shady' by the media and by a consensus amongst the media-saturated public, what DJs do are roped in and affected as well.
DJs are there to play their music. They are there to share and make a decent living... just like everyone else.
Look at other outlets which parents are supporting their children to attend and excel at. Performing acts like dancing, modeling, etc. These makes each child 'flaunt' what they have. Some even go to the extent of having the child dress rather revealing and this is ok?? What about sports, and the deaths, accidents, injuries which have hampered countless of kids, permanently damaging them? This is an OK risk to take? But spinning tunes in a 'shady' place, which honestly, has not seen even half as many, probably not even a quarter or an eighth, of the DJs affected as badly as any of the other hobbies children attend seem hazardous and wrong ?!?
Look, no doubt clubs do have the occasional scuffle, or the wrong image which it presents to the public, but DJs have completely nothing to do with all this. DJs live for their music and if even that is hazardous, then life is not worth living anymore.
If life, is going to be all sheltered and comfortable, then life, has not been lived.
